Kegdai Handicraft Services has been started its activities in 2018 and in 2021 officially registered with the government. The business has 170 skilled labors in the above-mentioned field of handicrafts from which just 6 persons is male rest of them is female, the business getting orders from Nangarhar city and Kabul and as will from international markets such USA, Germany and recently got orders from Italy due to lack of sufficient working capital can’t fulfill orders. They purchase raw materials from Jalalabad city, Nangarhar.
The business has enough work experience in Nangarhar, last year with technical assistance of DAI-ACEBA office in east region the business trained 300 women in vocational training (Khamak Dozi, Salma Dozi, Charma Dozi and Tailoring) in Nangarhar and in Kunar provinces, now most of them working at their homes.
The business has provided active license got from Mayor and the license from MOIC is in process of renewing. The business coverage area is Nangarhar Jalalabad city, Behsood, Surkhrood, Kama, Roodat, Khogyani, Darahnoor and Khewa districts, and in Kurnar province Sarkano, Darah Pich, Marawara, Shegal, Watapor, Narang, Asmar and Sawki districts.
